cryocorrect

CryoCorrect

CyroCorrect is a non-invasive skin treatment that can reduce sun spots and remove skin tag. This procedure provides the most advanced technology in cryotherapy. CryoCorrect gently freezes away skin tags and unwanted blemishes from the face, body, and hands. Improvements are typically noticeable after only 1 session, although you may want more sessions to treat persistent or larger problem areas.

How Does CryoCorrect Precision Pen work?

During treatment, age spots, sun spots, and skin tags are removed using a microfine burst of liquid CO2 that freezes the water in the discolored skin cell, which forces the cell to expand over time (usually four to six weeks) and combust, making the discolored spot disappear. And, its unique factor compared to other skin pens on the market is its use of liquid carbon dioxide instead of liquid nitrogen, which allows it to freeze the skin at a milder temperature and and give you the results you’re looking for with less risk of scarring.

What will happen during your CryoCorrect treatment?

Due to the ease of this procedure, the CryoCorrect Precision Pen can typically be a quick add-on to your scheduled treatment or as a stand-alone treatment.  The skin is thoroughly cleansed prior to treatment to ensure reduce any risk of infection.  The Pen is then applied to a sunspot on the desired treatment area for about five seconds, three times.  You may experience a slight cooling, stinging feeling, but overall, it was pretty painless. A bit of stinging and itchiness may last for about 10 minutes after the treatment.  You can expect the treated areas to turn red immediately following the treatment.  A scab can sometimes form after one week, and finally disappeared about 4-6 weeks later. It’s important to also keep treated areas out of the sun while the lesion is healing.

What does SkinCeuticals CryoCorrect Pen treat?

The results of treatment are typically seen within 4-6 weeks of the treatment.  Many individuals may experience a scab to the area, that will heal, and along with it the treated lesion will disappear.   On occasion the lesion may need to be treated again for full corrective results.  The CryoCorrect Pen treats.

· Sun Spots

· Dark Spots

· Skin Tags

· Age Spots

How many treatments will I need?

Typically, the lesions are treated in one session, but depending on the size and severity can take multiple treatments.

How long will it take for me to see results?

Results are usually seen in a 4-6 week period of time.

How long will my CryoCorrect Pen results last?

Results vary depending on the person, it’s important to continue using good sun protection to ensure the spots don’t come back and new spots don’t form.

Will the CryoCorrect Pen hurt?

Typically, patients may experience some slight stinging during the procedure and shortly afterwards that quickly subsides.

How will I look after my CryoCorrect Pen treatment?

You can expect for the treated lesion(s) to be red after treatment and potentially turn into a scab within a week after treatment.  It’s important to keep the skin protected from the sun and in a bout 4-6 weeks the scab should return to your normal skin, with the treated lesion safely removed.

Can I use makeup after my CryoCorrect Pen treatment?

Directly after your treatment we recommend using plain Vaseline.  It is ok to cover with a light mineral makeup.

PRP-Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy

PRP promotes hair growth, skin rejuvenation and reduction in scars

PRP- also known as Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy is a new treatment that uses your own growth factors from your platelets to stimulate repair and regeneration of tissues. PRP can be used for hair regrowth, facial rejuvenation and scar reduction.  PRP has been used for years to treat pain and injured tissue and joints.  Now, use your own body’s healing cells to stimulate your hair and skin.

PRP can treat anything from fine lines and sun damage to deep wrinkles dark undereye circles and acne scarring. It requires a simple blood draw from the arm and uses a centrifuge to separate the platelets into platelet rich plasma. This PRP has abundant natural growth factors that enhance the health and growth of many skin cells.  This PRP is either injected into the skin or placed on the skin after another procedure such as microneedling or fractional resurfacing that allows it to penetrate in the skin.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy?

Platelet-rich plasma therapy is for people who are in good health and do not have any serious skin conditions. The people who tend to see the most benefit :

Hair Restoration:  PRP can slow down hair loss and stimulate new hair growth.  It is usually injected into the areas of hair loss.

Facial rejuvenation:  In the face, PRP can stimulate collagen production, keeping the skin smooth, plump and firm.  This is often applied after microneedling or laser treatments to enhance the results.  PRP can also be used in conjunction with fillers to enhance collagen stimulation and provide longer lasting results.

Scar reduction:  PRP can improve scars by enhancing collagen growth.  This is often combined with fillers or subcision.

How Is Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy Performed?

A small amount of your blood is drawn and is then placed in a centrifuge and spun to separate the platelets and plasma from the other components of the blood. The platelets contain several growth factors that can help stimulate cell growth, collagen and tissue regeneration. After the plasma and platelets are separated from the rest of the blood, they are injected into areas where you want to have more youthful skin.

How Can Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy Help Treat Hair Loss?

Platelet-rich plasma therapy has been introduced as a new non-surgical treatment for alopecia, or hair loss, for both men and women. The PRP is injected into the patient’s scalp, helping to stimulate the hair follicle to aid in hair regrowth without pain. Talk to the nurse to see if PRP therapy would be a good option to treat your hair thinning or hair loss.

When Does The Improvement Appear?

The first effects of the treatment are visible after two weeks. Tissue reconstruction begins already 48 hours after the first treatment.
The biggest stimulation of collagen production occurs one month after the treatment.
The improvement of the tightness, flexibility and density of the skin, collagen fibres remodelling, and smoothing of fine lines is achieved after three treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
For hair loss: as soon as after two treatments, considerable thickening of hair and improved hair condition is visible.

Is there any downtime with Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy?

Downtime: Varies depending on procedure. Initial redness will occur in the treatment area and can last anywhere from 2-4 days (or more with Profractional). Some patients heal in as little as 24 hours. Deeper treatments require more healing tim

Is there any Contraindications and Adverse Effects with Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy?

As all the components received in PRP have autologous origin, the risks of a local immunological response, intolerance and allergy are excluded.

Contraindications include:

  • Neoplasms
  • Blood diseases
  • Cancer
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Taking drugs prolonging the bleeding period (e.g. aspirin)

Are There Side Effects to Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy?

Immediately after the procedure, there will be some swelling and redness, but no significant or lasting side effects have been reported.

How Long Will Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy Last?

Improvement begins as soon as the procedure is done and continue for about three months. It is usually recommend to have a series of threatment to see the best results. The overall effects can last for more than a year.

*Results may vary by individual

Hair restoration

What is hair restoration?

Hair restoration is a cutting-edge, non-surgical treatment for people who suffer from hair loss & thinning hair. During treatments, growth factors can be injected into the scalp to grow thicker, fuller hair. At TLC Laser & Skincare, we provide hair restoration treatments to men and women. To regain confidence and a full head of hair without surgery or downtime.

What are growth factors?

Blood mainly consists of a liquid called plasma, and contains red blood cells, white blood cells and growth factors. Growth factors are commonly used by medical professionals to heal injuries. A high concentration of platelets and growth factors can be 5-10 times richer than normal plasma.

In order to develop and prepare the hair restoration serum, we will draw a small amount of your blood. Using the centrifuge at our medical spa, we will separate growth factors from other blood cells in order to increase their concentration. The increased concentration of growth factors is then combined with the remaining blood.

How does hair restoration work?

Although the science behind growth factors is not crystal clear, studies show that the increased concentration can speed up the healing process.

Growth factors are used to treat tendonitis and can improve healing after surgery, as it accelerates tissue regeneration and new cellular growth. For hair restoration, growth factors can be injected into the scalp in order to stimulate inactive hair follicles into active growth.

What can I expect during the procedure?

A small amount blood will be drawn, in the same way that routine blood samples are taken in a lab. We will then prepare the serum by centrifuging your blood sample. The centrifuge machine has a rapidly rotating container that uses centrifugal force to separate the growth factors.

The nurse will then add the serum to a syringe and inject it into your scalp. Injections are made in order to deliver the highly-concentrated growth factors into the skin at the level of any weak hair follicles. The entire procedure takes 30 minutes to an hour to complete, but you will be able to drive yourself home afterward and resume your regular routine. There is no downtime

What can I expect from the results?

Patients usually see improvements in hair thickness, texture and growth within a few weeks after treatment. It can take several months to see measurable results. We recommend 3-6 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart, for best results. You will need maintenance treatments every 1-2 years to maintain the results of your hair restoration treatment. No procedure can change your genetic predisposition for hair loss, so subsequent sessions are strongly encouraged.

*Individual results may vary; not a guarantee.

Is PRP Suitable for Everyone?

PRP therapy is not suitable for everyone and caution should be taken especially in patients with a history of heavy smoking, drug or alcohol use, or a medical diagnosis such as platelet dysfunction syndromes, heart disease, chronic skin diseases or cancer, metabolic and systemic disorders.

If considering PRP therapy, it is important to fully disclose your medical history to the specialist. For those suitable for PRP, remember that results will vary between individuals and, as with any medical treatment, no specific result can be promised.

PRP can be used as a stand-alone treatment for those that are prone to side effects from other hair loss treatments. As a non-surgical treatment, PRP can be combined with medical hair loss treatments, such as Minoxidil and other DHT inhibitors, Revive Hair Loss Mesotherapy as well as a designed natural hair products for hair loss. It can also be used before, during or after surgical hair restoration, such as a hair transplant.

What are the benefits from treatment?

Patients have reported the following benefits of using platelet rich plasma for hair restoration:

  • Increase in hair number
  • Improved hair density
  • Regeneration of hair structure and diameter
  • Improved hair thickness
  • Increased hair growth
  • Increased hair strength
  • Hair coming out decreases just after the first procedures
  • The phase of “coming out” is switched to the phase of growth
  • Oil glands begin to function in a normal way eliminating dyssebacia (dandruff)
  • Growth of fungi and bacteria on the scalp is inhibited
  • After the course of treatment hair grows healthy, firm and glossy.

PRP Hair Treatments do not require any preparatory medications, or recovery down time. Patients can wash their hair in the few hours following the procedure but they should avoid any harsh chemical treatments such as hair coloring or perming for at least 72 hours.

Unlike many hair growth medications, PRP therapy hair treatments do not have significant side effects. Mild inflammation, swelling, and redness may be experienced for a short period after the treatment. All concerns and medical history can be discussed with our professionals during your consultation.
