LED Phototherapy is a non-invasive medical treatment that uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to stimulate cellular activity and promote skin rejuvenation. Different wavelengths of light, typically red, blue, and near-infrared, are utilized to target specific skin concerns.
Red light stimulates collagen production, reduces inflammation, and promotes overall skin health.
Blue light is effective in treating acne by targeting the bacteria responsible for breakouts.
Near-infrared light penetrates deeper into the skin, promoting healing and enhancing cellular regeneration.
LED Phototherapy is known for its safety, minimal side effects, and versatility in addressing various skin conditions. It is commonly used in dermatology and aesthetic settings for its ability to improve the appearance of the skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and treat conditions such as acne and hyperpigmentation.
Light therapy, also known as phototherapy or low-level light therapy, is the application of specific wavelengths of light energy to tissue to obtain therapeutic benefits for a variety of conditions including skin, pain and hair restoration.
The absorbed energy is then used to improve cellular performance. Light therapy can be delivered through light emitting diode (LEDs) devices or cold LASERs, and has a variety of applications across many medical fields. This clinically validated technique is gaining greater and greater acceptance in main stream medicine by dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons as a non-invasive therapeutic modality for the treatment and healing of skin and wound conditions and by pain professionals for pain relief.
Phototherapy, or LED red light therapy, has been widely researched and is supported by thousands of peer-reviewed and published clinical research papers from prestigious institutions around the world. Other terms by which light therapy is referred to are photobiostimulation, photobiomodulation, photomedicine, LED light therapy, low-level light therapy (LLLT), red light therapy, cold and soft LASER therapy. All terms are correct, have the same meaning and are used to describe the delivery of light energy to treat a variety of medical and cosmetic conditions.
LED light therapy treatments are non-invasive, painless, require no recovery time, and can be used safely on all skin types
In the same way that plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into energy, high intensity light emitting diodes (LEDs) utilizing specific, proven wavelengths of light can trigger a natural bio stimulatory effect in human tissue. Research has shown that light emitting diode (LED) or phototherapy can increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, kill acne bacteria, decrease inflammation, improve acne prone skin, skin tone, texture and clarity, decrease under eye wrinkles as well as ease muscle and joint pain, stiffness, spasm, and pain associated with arthritis.
Research indicates that cells absorb particles of light (photons) and transform their energy into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the form of energy that cells utilize. The resulting elevation of ATP is then used to power metabolic processes; synthesize DNA, RNA, proteins, enzymes, and other products needed to repair or regenerate cell components; foster mitosis or cell proliferation; and restore homeostasis. Simply put, the LED phototherapy source provides compromised cells with added energy so the cells performance is enhanced. For example, fibroblast cells will increase collagen and elastin production in connective tissue to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in our skin and increase the rate of wound healing.
Celluma LED devices are a Class II medical device, FDA cleared to treat the following conditions:
Fine lines & Wrinkles
Acne
Hyperpigmentation
Psoriasis
Wounds
Eczema
Muscle & joint stiffness
Muscle tissue tension
Muscle & joint pain
Muscle spasm
Arthritic pain
Celluma is also CE Marked in the European Union (EU) as a Class II a medical device for wound healing and was the first device of its kind to achieve such status.
Celluma light therapy improves cellular health to rejuvenate the skin, treating:
· Dull, tired skin
· Lines and wrinkles
· Uneven skin tone or dark pigmentation
Here are some of the positive effects it can have on the skin:
Stimulates Collagen Production
Red LED light stimulates the production of collagen, a crucial protein that contributes to skin elasticity and firmness. This can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Reduces Inflammation
Both red and near-infrared LED light have anti-inflammatory properties, making them effective in calming and soothing irritated skin. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with inflammatory skin conditions such as rosacea or redness.
Promotes Healing
Near-infrared LED light penetrates deeper into the skin, promoting faster healing and cellular regeneration. It can be helpful in reducing the recovery time after certain skin treatments or procedures.
Targets Acne
Blue LED light has antibacterial properties that can help kill the bacteria associated with acne. It is a non-invasive way to manage and improve acne-prone skin.
Enhances Skin Tone and Texture
LED Phototherapy can contribute to a more even skin tone by reducing hyperpigmentation and promoting a smoother texture.
Boosts Circulation
The light energy from LEDs enhances blood circulation, which can contribute to healthier skin by ensuring a better supply of oxygen and nutrients to skin cells.
Minimizes Pore Size
The overall improvement in skin health and collagen production can contribute to reduced pore size, giving the skin a smoother appearance.
Light therapy is a technology developed by NASA. Light penetrates the tissues, creating the energy to fuel metabolic processes resulting in cell regeneration. The Celluma Pro is the only FDA-approved flexible LED panel combining 3 wavelengths of light: Blue, Red, and Near Infra-Red.
Blue light (465nm) penetrates the epidermis
· Destroys acne producing bacteria P. Acnes
· Reduces outbreaks
· Speeds up healing times
· Reduces risk of scarring
· Improves pre-existing scars over time
· Studies show a reduction in lesions in 80% over 12 weeks
Red light (640nm) penetrates deeper into the dermis
· Stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin
· Gives firm skin texture
· Reduces wrinkles
· Reduces pore sizes
· Improves lymphatic drainage, reducing puffiness of the face
Near Infrared light (880nm) penetrates the deepest
· Restores a healthy glow to the skin
· Improves blood circulation bringing oxygen and nutrients to skin cells
· Reduces inflammation
· Accelerates tissue repair
· Eases muscle and joint pain
Most all areas of the body can be treated. At your complimentary consultation, we will discuss your main skin concerns and the best treatment options available for you. Phototherapy is delivered over 30 mins while lying down, with the flexible light panel adjusted close to the skin for maximum effectiveness. A course of treatments is recommended for best results – a minimum of twice weekly treatments for a duration of 4-6 weeks is usually recommended.
Most patients notice a difference in their skin within one treatment. Over time, the skin’s natural repair processes are stimulated, and the appearance of the skin will improve. However, a course of more than one treatment may be necessary to achieve the desired results.
Yes, LED Light Therapy is suitable for all skin types. It is painless and non-invasive. There is no down time, you may return to your normal activities immediately after treatment.

Medical-grade LED light therapy refers to the use of LED light devices that meet specific medical standards and regulations. These devices are typically designed to deliver precise wavelengths of red, blue or near infrared light that penetrate the skin effectively and provide therapeutic benefits. Medical-grade LED light therapy devices are FDA-cleared or FDA-approved for specific therapeutic indications, such as acne reduction or skin rejuvenation.
The main difference is the medical device is stronger than the consumer versions. Our medical, in-clinic LED Light Therapy is around 10x more powerful than the at-home LED treatment. This does not mean that the at-home devices are ineffective they just aren’t as strong. Continuous use over time will absolutely deliver improvements, the best course of action is to get a mix of in-clinic treatments while also using your at-home device regularly. Using a combination of in-clinic LED treatments as well as your at-home device, is encouraged.
Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive, no-downtime treatment that is great for improving skin texture, pores, blackheads, fine lines, and more. You are able to go about your daily routine right after treatment. You will experience softer, smoother and cleaner skin even after the first treatment. Microdermabrasion helps by removing the outer layer of dead skin cells to promote the growth of healthy new skin cells. Microdermabrasion will also decongest clogged pores, enhance the look of your makeup, and provide maximum penetration of your products. Regular treatments (every 4-8 weeks) are recommended for overall skin health along with proper at-home skin care to maintain and protect.
Years of exposure and the aging process take a toll on the skin, creating lines, wrinkles, and changes in texture and color. Not only is the face affected but these changes occur on the neck, chest, arms and hands as well. Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure that gently resurfaces the outer layer of skin to promote new skin cell growth and reveal fresh, healthy skin that is polished and refined. Skin resurfacing also stimulates the elastic tissue beneath the surface of the skin, resulting in a healthier and firmer appearance.
The DiamondTome skin resurfacing wand removes the outer layer of skin by gently exfoliating the skin with natural diamond chips, while at the same time, vacuuming the dead skin cells away. This is done in a safe, sterile, precise and controlled method. Exfoliation occurs as the wand is drawn across the skin. Removing this outer layer of dead skin cells leaves a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy, new skin cells. This procedure is a wonderful alternative or compliment to chemical peels. The DiamondTome resurfacing procedure is non-invasive, non-surgical, pain free and requires no downtime from work or social activities.
Yes. This treatment is safe for all skin types and conditions. It is regarded as a gentle mechanical resurfacing system. When compared to the traditional crystal microdermabrasion systems, this method provides more dramatic results.
Dermaplane is a safe, non-invasive treatment which uses a special tool at a forty-five degree angle and stroked along the skin, while holding the skin taut to remove “peach fuzz”, as well as dead skin cells. Dermaplane is performed as a stand alone treatment or prior to other skincare treatments to enhance their effectives .This is a wonderful form of exfoliation that can be used with or without chemicals. This treatment does not require downtime and will effectively smooth acne scars and give you the smoothest possible skin.
When performed by a well trained professional, dermaplanning is very safe.
No. This is physiologically impossible. There are two types of hair that grow on your body. Vellus hair, which when cut or removed will grow back the same size and shape, therefore, the main structure of vellus hair does not change and is not altered by dermaplanning. Terminal hair however, is physiologically coarse. When this hair type is cut it will always grow back coarse. Dermaplanning is designed to treat the vellus hair which is located on the face. Once vellus hair is cut it will maintain a blunt edge and this blunt edge will not physiologically alter the hair itself.
Dermaplanning is performed on the face only.
Dermplanning is usually performed every three-four weeks. Treating the skin in this manner actually removes about two-three weeks worth of dead skin cells. The skin needs to complete its normal thirty day rejuvenation cycle before the treatment is done again.
Occasionally the skin will peel after a dermaplane. If the procedure is done in two week intervals, the growth cycle of your hair may not be complete; therefore you are treating skin unnecessarily. This may cause peeling to occur.
All skin types may benefit from dermaplanning. A dermaplane is not recommended if you have acne or an excessive production of sebaceous gland oil. (Sebaceous glands excrete oil along the vellus hair). If the hair is removed, the oils may cause bacteria growth that can stimulate acne breakouts.

Chemical peels work by removing the outermost layers of the skin. Removing the outermost layers of the skin can repair the damage done by age, sun exposure and skin conditions by allowing smooth, healthy new skin to grow. Chemical peels can lighten skin affected by hyperpigmentation or improve the appearance of wrinkles and scars. They’re also used to treat skin conditions like acne or remove pre-cancerous growths from the skin
Chemical peels remove dead skin cells from the surface of your skin to allow lighter, brighter, newer skin to grow. Chemical peels have been used since ancient times to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Modern chemical peels don’t just make you look younger; they can also treat skin conditions like acne, melasma, and even precancerous growths.
Many people get chemical peels for cosmetic reasons. Mild chemical peels remove a portion of the epidermis, or upper layer of the skin. They can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin tone, and improve skin texture.
Modern chemical peels aren’t just used for cosmetic purposes. Skin peels are used to treat a number of skin conditions ranging from acne to melanoma. Mild chemical peels are often used to treat acne, since they help to keep pores clean. For sun damage and hyperpigmentation problems like melasma, medium-depth peels are often more effective.
Many people get chemical peels to remove sun spots, age spots or other types of hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage. Mild and medium-depth chemical peels can remove sun spots, freckles and sun damage, or help the discoloration fade.
Chemical peels work best on those with mild to moderate skin damage from sun exposure, aging, lifestyle choices such as smoking, and/or acne. If you would like a brighter, smoother and fresher complexion, without surgery and little or no downtime, then you are an excellent candidate for a chemical peel.
A chemical peel involves the use of a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. Chemical peels increase cellular turnover which in turn refines the epidermis and treats environmentally damaged, acne prone, sensitive, dry and oily conditions.
Most clients report a mild stinging or slight burning sensation that lasts for a very short amount of time, however, it really depends on the type of chemical used during the process.
During your initial consultation, we will discuss your cosmetic goals. To this end, a skin care regimen will be designed to help you improve and maintain healthier looking skin at home. Typically, a series of three to six chemical peels spaced two to four weeks apart is adequate to achieve most cosmetic goals.

(Extractions are an extra charge for this treatment.)
An extraction is the process of clearing a clogged or compacted pore by manual or mechanical means. Extractions are often performed as part of a facial. Most people need at least a couple of extractions during each facial, though you may require more extractions if this is your first facial. Extractions are performed under a magnifying lamp with a bright light, so that your esthetician can easily see the pores that need to be deep-cleansed. Eye pads or protective eyewear will be placed on your eyes to protect them from the bright light. The esthetician wears gloves, and applies gentle pressure around the pore to extract the contents. This may be done using the fingers (wrapped in gauze or cotton) or a special metal implement designed for this purpose.
Some pores may not be ready to be extracted on the first attempt and may require several treatments before they can be cleared.
Comedones (blackheads) are the most common reason for extraction. A blackhead is not necessarily “dirt in the pores” as many people think. It is a pore that has become clogged with excess sebum and dead skin cells. The dark spot which is visible on the surface of the skin is oil which has oxidized and darkened on exposure to the air, like when you slice an apple and allow it to sit out for a while.
Pustules and pimples can also be extracted, depending on their size and depth. This often requires the use of a lancet to gently lift and remove the very top layer of the pustule to allow the contents to be easily extracted.
Milia are small, white, dome-shaped bumps that can be 1–2 mm in size and typically appear on the nose and cheeks. They are often found in groups and occur when keratin becomes trapped beneath the surface of the skin. Milia can be difficult to remove. Treatment entails gently opening the skin overlying the milia and extracting the sebum.
