IPL/BBl Phototherapy

Any area of your body can be treated. The most common areas are those most exposed to the damaging effects of sunlight. The most popular treatments are on the face, neck, back of the hands, chest and shoulders.

The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient and your technician will personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire. Your physician may also combine your treatment with other popular aesthetic procedures to further personalize your treatment.

Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. You may briefly feel a warm or “rubber band snap” sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type of procedure performed. 

Everyone pain tolerance is different but generally, a topical anesthetic is recommended for treatment to help with the discomfort.

You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. For some pigmented lesions, you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Your treated skin will feel smoother, fine lines and pores will be less noticeable, and sunspots or uneven pigmentation will fade. Results depend on your condition, the number of treatments, and the area treated. Your technician will provide you with complete information about the post   

treatment care and results.

This is a noninvasive and gentle procedure with minimal downtime. In most cases, you are able to return to work, apply makeup, and resume most of your activities immediately.

It is important to follow the post care instructions. Skin care products maybe recommend to achieve the best results and instructions on how to use them. You will be sensitive to ultraviolet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure until completely healed. Fully cover your skin or use a good sunscreen whenever you go outdoors.

The process usually takes about 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Immediately after the treatment, you will experience some redness  and possibly swelling that will resolve within a few hours for some and few days for others. To help you achieve the best possible results from your Forever Young BBL™ treatment, our team will provide you with post care instructions. Some basic aftercare includes:

• Applying a cold compress to minimize possible swelling and  redness 
• Wearing a sunscreen of between SPF 30-50
• Using gentle cleansers and moisturizers while healing
• Avoiding direct sunlight until completely healed

We may also recommend specific skincare products to help you maximize your treatment results.

Vascular conditions, such as spider veins and telangiectasia, are usually found on the face, thighs, legs, calves, and arms. With ClearScan, all affected skin areas can be treated effectively. Discuss your needs with your clinician. 

Some momentary discomfort associated with the ClearScan vascular treatments may be experienced in the treated area; however it varies from patient to patient and depends on the treatment. Typically topical anesthetics are not used but your clinician will discuss your options to properly manage any discomfort from the treatment. Most often, there should be no prolonged post treatment discomfort.

Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated. 

The most common side effect is discoloration of the vein and bruising, or purpura (purplish discoloration), around the treated area. This will resolve within days after the treatment. Initially, you may have a “cat scratch” like appearance to the treated vessels for 1 – 2 days after the treatment. The treated area may be sensitive to the touch and feel as if there is a slight sun burn in that area. Most redness, swelling and sensitivity resolve within 2 – 3 days. Your clinician will answer questions about temporary changes on your skin color and how they may be camouflaged. 

It is important to follow your clinician’s instructions. For treatments in some areas of the body, such as legs, there may be specific instructions for activity. Your skin will be sensitive to ultraviolet light, and you must avoid direct sun exposure. You need to fully cover your treated skin and/or use sunblock with a minimum SPF of 30 whenever you go outdoors. 

Some vessels may show visible disappearance immediately while other destroyed vessel’s response may be less visible or lighter in appearance. Laser vein treatment works by causing the unwanted vessel to collapse, and over a period of time, your body will slowly re-absorb that vessel, similar to a bruise healing. This process can take place over a period of several weeks.

Depending on the severity of the vascular condition, multiple treatments may be required. Improvement generally lasts for a number of years, but over time new veins will develop, requiring a touch-up treatment at a later date. 

The SkinTyte light energy is delivered in a sequence of rapid, gentle pulses. There is no need for a topical anesthetic, however, your physician may choose to use one on more sensitive areas. A series of pulses will be repeated over the treatment area to ensure best results. While the face and neck can typically be treated within 30 minutes, the actual time will depend on the area treated. 

You may experience some mild redness in the treated area immediately after treatment and this should return to normal within minutes. Since the SkinTyte procedure is noninvasive there is no downtime so you can resume regular activities immediately following treatment. You can also apply makeup and sunscreen after each session.
